About

I know hospitality because I've worked in it.

Hey, I’m Mike.

I’ve spent nearly two decades working in hospitality, and somewhere along the way, photography became just as important to me.

I started taking photography seriously around 2016, and Shift Change Studio brings those two worlds together. I know what makes a great hospitality space more than just the food or drinks being served. It’s the energy, the people, the process, and all the little details that regulars might not even realize are part of why they keep coming back.

My background in coffee runs especially deep. I was trained as a barista by a two-time Canadian Barista Champion who went on to place third in the world, and I’ve had the opportunity to judge at the national competition level myself.

That experience shapes the way I photograph hospitality businesses. I understand the rhythm of service, I know when to step in and when to stay out of the way, and I don’t want your business to stop being itself just because there’s a camera in the room.

The goal is simple: create natural, professional images that actually feel like your business.

Your space already has a story. I’m there to capture it.
